Get Ready for Rain in April!

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

rainbi

After releasing his 5th album Rainism in May 2008 and focusing on Ninja Assassin in 2009, Rain will be making a comeback with two albums coming this April.

Rain’s last album, Rainism, was released a year and a half ago. After finishing his promotions for the album, Rain used a majority of 2009 to complete filming and promoting his Hollywood film Ninja Assassin.

Yesterday, February 19th, JTunes Entertainment revealed that he will be releasing a special mini-album consisting of 4 to 5 songs in April. Six months after, Rain will also be dropping a full-length album in October. Currently Rain is working on the mini-album with the same feelings as when he first debuted as spring was when he debuted.

A JTunes Representative said, “Currently the recording for some of the songs are completed and we have been receiving better songs from the composers. Of the songs to be included, there will be ballad songs, but as for what genre the title song will be, it is still unconfirmed as of now.”

TVXQ is certified Platinum

The boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki have achieved “Gold” (100,000 sales) in Japan numerous times for their singles but now they’ve achieved their first ever “Platinum” for their new single Break Out!

The RIAJ or Recording Industry Association of Japan states that you need at least 250,000 sales to achieve Platinum and Break Out! moved 255,917 units in one week.

The next goal for TVXQ will be “Million / Diamond,” (1,000,000 sales) the highest certification in Japan. Congratulations to the boys and hopefully they can achieve Million one day. Thanks to Brenna for the tip and junsuluv @ ONETVXQ for sharing the information.

G-Dragon: “I just don’t know where it ends”

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

g-d

Song after song of huge hits, but the pressure only gets greater instead of decreasing, says G-Dragon.

Most of the songs G-Dragon have written have gone onto be huge hits (Daebak’s)- the song “Lies” on Big Bang’s first mini album (released in 2007), which he had originally written for himself, followed by “Last Farewell”, “Haru Haru” and “Sunset Glow”.

In an interview with Asiae.co.kr, G-Dragon explains how “even though people kept telling us we had become ‘a huge hit’, it didn’t feel like it because we weren’t allowed to go out. The only places we went to were broadcasting stations, our living quarters and the practice rooms. Back then, we were still nothing but kids and people continued to keep saying ‘what do we do with them?’ Even though we kept getting the number 1 position, we didn’t feel any different. When the audience clapped and cheered for us, we just thought ‘it’s only because we’re singers’. Whenever we went on stage people would clap, but we wouldn’t be able to tell at all since we’d be singing.”

There is a phrase that celebrities often hear, and one they repeat to themselves over and over again into order to motivate themselves: “The next one is the most important”.

“I think that’s what is hardest about being a celebrity. Even if we do really well, we always hear that ‘the next time is more important’. ‘Normal’ people might think being a celebrity is easy, but it really isn’t.”

Even when they’re taking a break, it definitely does not mean that celebrities can let their guard down. Even if they tried, anxious thoughts such as ‘I must try even harder in my coming events’, ‘I can’t give up now’ and ‘the next one is more important’ will continue to taunt them.

“I just don’t know where it ends. Whenever we [Seungri, Daesung, Taeyang, T.O.P and G-Dragon] see fans who say ‘Big Bang inspires us to build our dreams’, we realise ‘man, this really isn’t just a joke’. I feel an even more increased responsibility.”

That being said, the Big Bang members are not really the type to take long excessive breaks anyway. G-Dragon commented that even when they are given a holiday, they might spend the first couple of days resting at home before crawling back to the practice rooms because they have nothing to do:

“It’s not like we plan it or anything, but even during our days off we see each other, whether it be for dancing or writing lyrics…practice is a regular part of our lives now. Subsequently, that is why we write more songs than others, and hence, have more songs to choose from. I think we have come this fair mainly because we don’t want to disappoint our fans.”

Even through the times where he had no choice but to keep going, G-Dragon learned to keep his balance with the thoughts and determination not to disappoint his fans. We can finally start to feel and understand why he worked so hard for.

G-Dragon interrogated for sexually explicit scene at concert

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon, was interrogated on the 4th for his sexually explicit bed scene at his first solo concert.

When asked about the sexually explicit bed scene, G-Dragon responded with, “I didn’t know it was that sexually explicit.”

When asked if he knew the song he performed, “She’s Gone,” was inappropriate for minors, G-Dragon responded, “I didn’t know.”

A representative of the district court stated, “G-Dragon has denied all charges. We are going to continue our investigation to determine whether G-Dragon’s actions are punishable by law. We plan to finalize our investigation by next week.”

This is great news so far… pending the outcome, the next time I have a sudden urge to hump a girl in public, I’ll just respond with “I didn’t know it was that sexually explicit.” I mean this is really great, I don’t even have to be reborn a dog.
